The Domain Treasury

How acquisition works

Four steps, one of which is waiting. Most sales here complete inside forty-eight hours, and nothing is asked of you before terms are agreed — no account, no deposit, no card.

01

Choose how you want to pay

Every listed name offers three routes. Buy now at the stated price ends the conversation immediately. An offer starts one — put a real figure forward and you get a real answer. Monthly terms spread the same price across equal, interest-free payments; you may use the name from the first payment, and ownership transfers with the last. Pick whichever suits your cash position, not ours.

02

We agree terms in writing

A short email confirms the name, the figure, the payment route and the transfer window. That is the whole contract. There is no listing agreement to sign, no broker sitting in the middle, and no commission added to what you were quoted.

03

Escrow.com holds the money

We open a transaction at Escrow.com and you fund it directly — by card, wire or ACH, depending on the amount. The money sits with the escrow agent, not with us. We pay the escrow fee. This is the step that protects you: if the domain never arrives, the funds go back.

04

The name moves to you

Once escrow confirms the funds, we push the domain. If you hold an account at the same registrar, that is a same-day change of ownership. A registrar-to-registrar transfer runs on ICANN's clock and can take up to five days. Escrow releases payment only after you confirm the name is in your account and working.

Questions worth asking

What is escrow, in plain terms?

A neutral company holds your money while the goods change hands. You pay Escrow.com. They tell us the money is there. We transfer the domain. You confirm you have it. Only then do they pay us. If the domain never arrives, you are refunded. It is the standard mechanism for domain sales and it exists precisely because neither side has met the other.

Can I pay monthly?

On most names, yes. The price is divided into equal monthly payments with nothing added for interest — a $24,000 name over 24 months is $1,000 a month, not a penny more. You may point the domain at your site from the first payment. Registrant ownership transfers when the final payment clears. Miss payments and the arrangement ends, with payments made to that point treated as rental of the name.

Why is there no price on some names?

Because the right figure depends on who is asking and what they intend to do. Where no price is shown, make an offer — you will get an honest answer rather than a stalling tactic.

Do you charge a broker fee?

No. Every name listed here is owned outright by us. The figure you agree is the figure you pay — no commission, no buyer's premium, no listing fee.

What happens to the price if I wait?

Listed prices hold while the name is listed. They are reviewed periodically and generally move upward, never on a countdown clock. If a name matters to your plans, the honest advice is to secure it — there is exactly one of each.

Will you sell me a name you have not listed?

Ask. Some names are held back deliberately and some are simply not catalogued yet. Describe what you are building and we will tell you honestly whether we hold anything that fits.
